Title: Does criticism do more harm than good to people?
Criticism, the twin sister of praise, is common in our daily life. As we know, criticism, not like praise, which is hard to get from others, may be more easily got from people around us.  As a teenager, Peter experienced and suffered from the criticism of an alcoholic parent. It seemed to Peter the only thing his father ever had to say to him was, 'You haven't got a brain in your head.' After several times of attempts, Peter wanted to prove to his father he did have a brain in his head. But all the attempts ended up with his father's inattention and the same criticism! Peter was frustrated and disappointed completely. Some teachers and parents enjoy  using criticism to whip up the children to study hard or behave good which they calls a provocation.  Still others may critize others groundlessly to destroy other's image. But to Marya, a brilliant graduate student in her early twenties who came from consultation, insisted that she could improve only with criticism. What is your opinion on criticism? And do you think criticism does more harm than good to people? Look forward for your reply! ~~

It's hard to say whether criticism is not good to us,even advice is seldom welcome but the reasonable ones do have its unexpected advantages, which intangibly stimulate us to be a more perfect man .At least we want to be better and gain recognition from others.

Yeah, everything has its own two sides, so is to criticism. A sincere criticism really does good to us, which, just as you said, intangibly help to exert ourselves.  What we need to do is make a correct judgment on others' criticism, then take action to make it work for us. Right?

I think, for different people, the chosing ways of being educated are different. As a  Chinese saying, "因人而异”
