I cook lunch today. In fact, I don't have much experience for cooking. I cooked less than 10 times until now.
Because there would be only three people at lunch, I dont cook too much dishes. Actually, only two dishes--cabbage and potato. They had been peeled and washed yesterday, so they look stale when I cut them. Before I cook the cabbage I have to cut them into pieces, this time I tear them into pieces with my hands but not kitchen knife. I learnt this skill from my mom. After a while the cabbage was prepared. I found my progress when I was cooking potato slice--none of the slices jumped out of the pan this time. I still remember that several potato slices had jumped out of the pan together with some seasonings.
Porridge was making the same time as I cooked cabbage and potato. I have confidence in porridge because it is easy to be prepared. You have to pay attention to the amount of rice and water. After they are mixed together you just press a button. In my family, we often add some other gredients to the porridge, sweet potato and pumpkin for example, so that the porridge smells and tastes a little sweet. That really stimulates appetite!
For my lack of experience, I dont know how to tell whether the disher in the pan can be eaten so I have to pick a bit to know they are eatable. Besides, I dont know how much salt should be added. To solve this problem, I add a bit of salt every time and then have a taste. If it is not salty enough I add another bit. If they are too salty I add some water to
dilute. Finally they are prepared, thanks God!
