A dinner party on Jan. 21, 2011 evening

On Jan. 21,2011 evening, our company held a big dinner party at a hotel near our company for celebration new year coming. All staff on active duty in our company including cleaner must take part in it no any excuse.besides all stockholder and their familes were present by invitation.

More than a hundred people were gathered in the lobby of Hotel, in the centre of which there is red scroll sign written “A dinner party of ××× Co., Ltd”. It was a gala night at the hotel.

The party began at 18:30. Like other parties, at the beginning there is some Speeches of relevant leaders in attendance, the content of which is only that in past year how did we did and next year how should we do and so on. After that, someone sang and danced. They show their talent and skill beyond the work woderfully and perfectly. It was amazing to me.

After finishing it, It was 19:30, we were hungry. The food began to serve on the table one by one, people ate and chatted with each other. Of course, it is the most important that drank a toast to boss and leader. Generally, to toast sb means to respect sb, and the principle is the one make a toast must drink the all in the glass. We call it “干杯”, it means the glass is dry, no anything. About drinking cultures in china, it is a profound learning. For instance, if you do not get on well with sb, you can drink a toast to sb, it is possible to turn hostility into friendship.

I, as a girl, had to drink a little inevitably. Luckily, only a little.

The culmination of the dinner party was for lucky draw. The third prize is RMB 100 pre-paid phone card for six places, the second prize is RMB 200 trading card for four places. The first prize is cash RMB 500 for one places. When all the prizes were took away, someone who got any prize were dissappointed. In order to break the ice at the party, the president Mrs cai raise funds from the stockholders for new opportunities to the others. At last they collect cash RMB 5000, it means there is eight first prize for RMB 500 and a special prize for RMB 1000. The whole place is in ferment. How I wish I can get one of those prizes. But Mrs cai said: “I wish that first-line employees can take them away instead of the supervisors and managers.” I am a supervisor, so I thought I should make space for them. As Mrs cai wish, somebody got the prizes except the executive group in the end. Though I had no any reward, I still was glad for all my co-workers were together on that evening.Thanks!
