I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards.
Today is Saturday. On the way to my classroom, I met a senior who was selling her books which she would not use. She asked me that which school I will choose, just because I am preparing for postgraduate entrance exam. I said "Tianjin Foreign Studies university. " She told me that it is difficult to be accepted by the university and this year two seniors chose this university, even though they had great grades, still failed. The university is very serious in choosing students. Anyway, I don't want to change my mind. The first reason is that the references which it listed are accordant with my textbooks. And other books I have already borrowed from library. I need to prepare four courses, Basic English, Japanese, Politics and British and American English Literature.
To tell the truth, at my recently skill level, the chance that I am admitted to the University is too slim. I need to make more effort to accomplish my dream.
These days, I have read a book which tells readers how to improve English. The opinion of the book is that the best way to remember vocabulary is to read original books. My teacher also told me that and we should persist in reading. But in fact, I have not read one English book yet. I wasted three years, and I should have read more books. There is no point in regretting the past and the things we can not change, so I want to make more effort to make up for.
Because I changed my major, I didn't learn the phonetic symbols. And I think it is the most basic thing I should learn, therefore, I bought a book online yesterday. Just like I mentioned, when the task or my plan is cumbersome or difficult, and other things will distract my attention. I will chat online, play with my roommates, go shopping etc. . Almost everyone has some bad habits, so we should get rid of them.

No. 2072 internationally. This university has higher status internationally than in China.
Each university has it's own acceptance standards. They would not be looking at your academic results only. They would also consider your educational background and future potential. As you know, a lot of students would be applying at the same time, so it would be difficult to anticipate the results. Try to do some research on how to process applicants. Some professors can give advice, but they are often out of reach. Anyway, all you can do now is to present your application and also prepare for alternative choices. Perhaps you may be accepted, who knows?
As for English, I believe your English standard is more or less commensurate with that of university level in China. It would be better if you read more suitable materials, no only books, but also magazine, news, stories etc to enrich your vocabulary and writing skills. Don't panic, it is not as difficult as you think. Each time you read, you would learn some new words and absorb some writing skills. No need to be so strict and make yourself tired. It is fine take some time off to relax once in a while, go for a walk, talk to friends, rest a while or whatever, but these breaks should be regulated or controlled and not take too much time off studies.
When I was in university in England. I did not enslave myself or imprisoned myself studying in the dormitory or library. I went for quiet walks nearby to sooth my nerves and relax my brain. I came back refreshed and ready for study. You can do the same too.

- I have experienced the time preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam. It was very hard and memorable. Every day, I spent most of the time in the library and classroom reviewing the required subjects. Because I was not that clever, so I had to spend more time and make more efforts to get better performance. I think a very important quality in this preparation is persistence and strong belief in yourself. Don't care about what others say, whether you could succeed in entering the university mostly depend on your efforts. Just hold on, encourage yourself every day and think about what kind of life you want to have in the future.Only if you have a definite goal, you can do your best to make it.
