IQ test

Hot 2709 views. 2015-11-28 19:54

There are 3 people, A, B, and C. Their names are Truth, Liar, and Midair. Truth alway tells people truths; Liar tells people nothing but lies; Midair sometimes tells people turth, and sometimes lies to people.  We know A, B, and C are them, but we don't know which is which.

So, a police asked A "Who is B?". A said "B is Truth."; then the police asked B"Are you Turth?", B said "No, I am Liar."; At last, the police asked C"Who on earth is B", C said "B is Liar.". Based on what they said, can you tell which is Truth, which is Liar, and which is Midair?

I can give you guys 3 alternative answers, so you can choose:

(1) A is Midair, B is Liar, C is Truth;
(2) A is Midair, B is Truth, C is Liar;
(3) A is Truth, B is Liar, C is Midair.

The right answer should be (2) A is Midair, B is Truth, C is Liar.

I think, the correct answer should be (1):
B is a liar, even if he tells the truth, no one would like believe it .
C is a truth, for he just tell truth.
A is a midair, he sometimes tell the turth, but sometimes tell a lie.

First, thanks for your response. The best answer should be (1). Here is why: according to what A said, we can deduce that A is definite not Truth,so A is either Liar or Midair; B said itself was Liar, so B is not Turth, then C must be Truth; C said B was Liar, so B is Liar; then we can easily tell that A is Midair. Here is one thing I cannot get. Since B is Liar, why did it tell the police the truth this time? Due to too much pressure?

I agree with you. Can you tell me how you deduce it? I mean the whole deductive process.

First, we suppose A is a liar, then we will find that others will be controdict, so , it maybe  a  liar or a midair. There is a condition, that is, truth never tell lies, so there only one possible anwer. If b is a truth, according what C said, he must not be a liar, but maybe C tell lies. Then there is another condition, liar tells nothing but lies, even if liar tells the truth, he will regard as a liar, it is upon a liar's nature. So, we can get a conculsion that  A is a midair, B is a liar, C is a truth.  Then everthing is ok.
But I think that this test has some broblem in  Theory of dilemma inference, in other words, I don't think it is very perfect in logical.
Anyway, it is a good way to make us thinking hard.
