Hot 3
I like travelling abroad, not only being obsessed with beautiful views and adventures, but also gourmet. Speaking of delicacy, I can not help priding our food. No matter where I have been, I could easily find a decent Chinese restaurant nearby. So, yes, Chinese restaurants do distribute all over the world. The most popular Chinese food oversea should be Kung Pao Chicken, Mapo Tofu, Hot Pot, Egg Roll, ect.. I believe all Chinese people here cann't be more familiar with Chinese cuisine, so I decide to drop it and talk more about exotic food.
Korean Rice Cake is a simple dish. Rice cake is sauted with special red chilli paste. The reddish looking is so attractive. Sticky texture of the rice cake and the peppery tast make it smell good and tast amazing.
The representative of Japanese food is Sushi. It looks simple and easy to make, but it is so expensive. Sushi rice is a special kind of rice. It has to be sticky but cannot be too sticky. Cool down the steamed rice and stire it with Mirin and sushi vinegar, then you can wrap the rice with dried seaweed sheet and stuffed with mayonnaise, avocado, cucumber, shrimp, crab meat, tuna, salmon, caviar etc., whatever you like. Sounds simple, doesn't it? So you can totally make it by your own, just one thing you have to keep in mind is that all the seafood has to be sushi-graded, otherwise it will tast yukky. The best Sushi I had was flavered rice wrapped by sashimi, and served with special house-made dipping sauce. Miso soup is famous too, but I myself am not a fan of it.
When coming to Thai food, the first thing popping in my head is coconut cream soup, though a lot of people like Tom Yum soup. Thailand abounds in coconuts, so they have the best coconut milk in the world. Coconut cream soup is creamy and tasty rather than greasy.
My second favorite Thai dish is Curry Chicken. they have red curry, green curry , yellow curry, etc.. Red curry is hot, green curry is mild, yellow curry falls in bewteen. Usually, restaurants would use different curry paste according to customers' preference. I like hot, so most of time I choose red curry.
Vietnamese dishes are similar with Thai dishes. Fresh lime juice and crushed lemongrass are commonly used seasonings. Vietnamese people like using herb to flavor their dishes, like mint, purple perilla, basil, etc.. Fish sauce is an essential condiment for their dishes. The dishes of Vitnam I miss the most are Beef Pho Noodle Soup and Rice Dumpling.
Stress fills in our lives. Tasty food can help us relieve the pressure. In fact, we can be satisfied by many different ways. Trying new things is one of them and can colour our insipid routine lives and broaden our horizons.
