The eighth day of the twelfth lunar month is the day of La Ba, it is the traditional Chinese festival, and the people would like celebrate the harvest and thanks the god given the life at the ancient time, the folk history to tell that the people have laba rice porridge and laba garlic at the day.

I can understand all kind of dry nut, date, beans and rice for the porridge can tell how fancy foods the people have, but for the laba garlic I really don’t know why at the day peeling the garlic for each one, and put it into a jar with full of vinegar, after one month later, amazing is that the garlic is becoming green, I did try before if I do the same way for garlic at the other times, it would not be turn to green.

I checked the calendar this year the day will be at the next week. The ingredient of porridge is easy get from any supermarkets or home make. But garlic need to be peeled which I have to do by myself, even I hated to do it, but you know Laba garlic is one of my daughter favorite seasoning food. I bought 2 kg garlics from the market, finished peeling garlic in two days, please see my photo the big bottle, I think this time my daughter will love me so much.
