Nowadays many people keep pets, because they think animals like dogs, cats are people’s best friends. They are various reasons for people keeping pets.

One of the most popular reasons is that pets are good companions. We all need companions to keep us feeling happy, especially old people who live alone. Many owners feel their pets can understand them, for their pet can sense their feeling such as anger and sorrow. Sometimes pets even save their owners from danger. Another important reason is that the time we spend with our pet, feeding, cleaning and playing with them makes us feel important and needed.

My daughter likes dog so much, since she was a girl, she bought one Teddy from internet without our permission, even she asked us for many times before, she knew the answer was no. Maybe it was not her fault, she needed someone accompany at home, she treated her like her baby, playing, cleaning and changing different clothes very often, after one or two years later, I can see how happy she was with Teddy, so quiet and clam.

Another possible explanation is that many parents think keeping pets are good for children. Learning to care for a pet helps a child to grow into a loving and responsible adult. But I don’t think so.

I was so happy that the time to sent Teddy out because of my daughter was pregnancy. In traditional way, any animals are not hygiene enough for a baby and a new mother in my opinion, so no doubt let Teddy out of my home. Although my daughter was so reluctant to accept my point. I am so sorry to say that.

No matter for what reason you decide to keep a pet, you should be good to them by treating them as your friends if they were human beings.
