The majority Chinese students have been studying very hard from kindergarten to high school until they enter into a Uni.

Unfortunately, due to tough competition, some of them haven’t reached the required Uni entrance scores, then they have to waste 4 years to study a course which they are not ready to enroll.

They can’t see a bright future ahead of them, therefore, it’s likely for them to spend time playing games, watching TV shows, dating or falling asleep in the classroom.

You might regard yourself as a loser, you are inferior to others, no matter how hard you try, and your destiny can’t be changed because you have failed at the beginning.

Therefore, please don’t waste your precious time on trivial things, they won’t help you compete with others, if you can’t stand out to create your own fate, then you will be a real loser.

If you don’t enjoy the course you are studying, then take it easy, please don’t spend too much time on it, as long as you can pass, complete a degree, that’s ok.

But that doesn’t mean you have no future, you don't deserve the life you dream of.

Yes, you can!!!! You still can!!! Please don’t give up.

The main thing is that you know what attracts you when you start doing it, you lose track of time as if you are falling in love.

Please don’t let it happen because you think everyone else is making money from it.

Because if it is only for money, you’ll end up really disappointed if you can’t immediately get profit from what you are doing, then you are easy to stop at half way by wasting time.

One of my relatives, he did journalism at the Uni, but that’s not what he was willing to learn, he had to choose it because he didn’t get enough score for entering IT department.

How disappointing!!! Instead of complaining or trying to kill time, he selected a few IT subjects in the Uni, moreover, he attended IT short courses outside the classes, but mainly he did self-taught IT, meanwhile, he keeps learning English.

As he specialized in IT and English for 4 years, after graduated from the Uni, he got a job as marketing, but he’s helping company doing IT work.

He was happy about that, he’s doing what he loved, it was part of his life and he couldn’t live without IT, at the same time, he has never left English behind.

With the IT and marketing knowledge he obtained from workplace and English he has mastered; a couple of years ago, he quit the job and found a new marketing position in an American IT company in Shanghai.

Now he has 4 weeks holiday a year, which is exactly the same as working overseas.

A few days ago I saw his posting at Wechat moment “Chasing Silicon Valley Sunset.

I was curious: “Where are you?” “I am having a business trip in California.”

“Wow, that’s amazing!!!” His dream came true.

How lucky he is, yes or no, probably it’s because he’s spending time on what really matters to him by quitting the things which are not worth trying.

After you read the story, you might consider that you should learn IT and English, then good luck will follow you.

No, I don't’ think that way. IT might not be your passion.

Only if when you are enthusiastic about what you are doing, then you will be the best.

Because no matter how hard it is, you are willing to spend time, put all your effort to conquer difficulties and stay over in the darkest moment while most people are start giving up, then you’ll be the winner.

Before you begin a new thing, you should think very carefully, whether it makes your heart singing, no matter what happens to you, you will keep going.

If you hate English reading and writing, you are not interested in communicating with foreigners, you wonder if there’s meaning for English learning.

Then please don’t waste time on it, your time is limited, you can do something else you particularly enjoy.

If you are crazy about food, then join a cooking class, probably one day you will become a master chef.

Please don’t follow others, that won’t make you the best, you can only be the average, and then you can’t live on your dreamed life.

One friend told me: “Chinese employee are no good, they work hard, yes, but need to instruct them all the time, like babies, no strategy.” 

“Shut up,” I argued:“I don't think all Chinese like that, that’s your stereotype.”

The ugly truth is that quite a lot of China skilled workers are not doing what we love, it starts from the Uni, girls are studying accounting; guys are having IT course.

We only have one purpose – get PR in Australia.

In the end, half people give up after graduation, they either get married to be a housewife taking care of kids or return back to China, the rest are doing a job nothing to do with accounting.

Probably less than half are joining CPA program for being a professional one, they are the qualified accountant, but some of them are not passionate about it, a few friends told me: “I don’t know whether it is useful or not?”

They are now on the track, the journey has been so long, it’s impossible for them to change the direction, but only the ones who are truly devoted to accounting, and then they will be a leader.

They show initiative at work, they don’t need other people inform them what to do; they don’t complain work longer hours even on the weekends because that’s part of their life.
