Recently, gamophobia（恐婚症） has become a heated topic among people by virtue of the rapid growth of individualism. Distinct from last generation, youngsters are attaching more importance to an ideal marriage, which means that they are stricter about the standard of spouse selection. For instance, keeping loyal to love is the bottom line rooted in many girls’ minds so much so that they would not tolerate their boyfriends to have an affair. Moreover, when it comes to marriage, many factors can be considered like family background and financial standing. Afflicted with problems mentioned above, more and more people claim that they are victims of gamophobia.

From my perspective, I deem that younger generation are deficient in a sense of responsibility and trust. They try to hide their fear as well as dodge difficulties in order to safeguard their delicate feelings. I sometimes wonder if the young are under too much pressure to strive for living in this modern society. Compared with last generation, they are expected to earn more money and pursue a high-quality life, which reduces the time of keeping relations with others. In other words, given that they get a married, they maybe degrade their life’s quality for more family expenses.

All in all, gamophobia is typical of social phenomenon in view of the youngsters’ reaction to this era. We should not blame them for their immaturity, in the contrast, we are supposed to respect their choice.
