The day before yesterday I made an appointment with my roommates to go to see the movie Coco, about which I saw a lot of reviews in my friend circle, and today I saw the movie finally.

The whole film begins with a brief introduction in the fashion of paper-cuts about the main character's family, which is a different kettle of fish. Different from other Mexican families, it hates music and chooses making shoes.

Then the story starts. Miguel, a 12-year-old boy, sets his heart on music, but is discouraged by his family. He has always been admiring God of Song, who died under a bell when performing. In the process of pursuing his dream, Miguel entered into another fantastic world of the dead by accident, where he came across his dead family and a poor musician Hector. Afterwards they embarked on a wonderful journey together.

The inspiration of the film springs from the traditional festival in Mexico - The Day of the Dead when Mexicans hold a memorial ceremony for the dead. However, the ceremony is not sad, but happy. People sing and dance to celebrate the annual family reunion. In their eyes, death is the highest meaning of life. Also, what is dreadful is not being dead, but being forgotten.

From my perspective, there are several factors contributing to the film's success. To begin with, it goes without saying that excellent production team is fundamental. Having worked out several outstanding movies, Pixar definitely is capable of providing an amazing visual feast for people once again.

Additionally, with well-designed plots and colourful scenes, the action comedy wins high praise from the viewers. It is beyond doubt that Coco has a happy ending owing to the fact that only a warm and tearful movie about family can offset the cold of winter, that is, a hot "Coco" is a perfect drink for such cold weather.

What's more, tuneful music is essential. I still remember the theme song "Remember Me", which is easy to sing and likely to be binge-listened. The lyrics of the song are warm, not to mention the melody.

Last but not least, the film is meant to tell us that when confronted with family and dream, family is the one that should be given more weight. In order to become famous, God of Song poisoned his musical partner Hector and stole his songs and guitar, which was shameless. Meanwhile, in reality, Hector wrote the signature song "Remember Me" for his daughter Coco, not for the world. He wanted to be a good father. For him, that was what counted.

As far as I am concerned, the film is worth your ticket, which will live up to your expectation. Maybe you will shed tears. Remember to bring some tissues and you will find that skeletons are really cute!
