As growing number of people travel, work and study abroad, recently, quite a few people are confused by a question: how to confront with the discrepancy between different cultures. Some people confirm that the host country should embrace the foreign cultures, and treat cultural differences with open mind while others disagree, they believe that foreigners should follow the custom of the host country.

As far as I'm concerned, provided that the host country adopts various culture, it would benefit its own culture, rather than breaking up it. Initially, cultural diversity is also a fundamental part of cultural power. A big country is supposed to welcome and embrace other cultures. In this way, the citizens can also improve the awareness of their own culture. Additionally, for ordinary people, taking account of the difference is also an intelligible way to reduce the risk of conflict, which results from the offending the locals caused by unconscious misunderstanding. More importantly, the culture is not immutable, on the contrary, it changes continously. In this information age, technology revolution taking place worldwide, the ability to embrace other culture is increasingly important.

In brief, the distinction of culture is significant, however, we should welcome cultural differences and integrate the positive aspects of other cultures into our own. It is the open mind that matters.
