Should Parents Choose Private Education?

Hot 41118 views. 2017-11-18 21:04

Nowadays, according to the latest Ipsos Mori poll, over half of the parents prefer private education on account of the raising investment of education, the improvements of education like computers. Also, changes of intervention strategies which aim at improving the quality of education stimulate the parents to choose so. Personally, I disagree.

As far as I am concerned, defects, existing in the private education system, which parents should accord more attention to is more essential. First and foremost, private schools are commonly famous on high enrolment rate. The teachers, therefore, would regard test scores as the most important, overlooking cultivation of other skills or capacibilities, which is bad for students' growth. Secondly, provided that private education booms, the distribution of education resource must be an attendant issue, for the reason that good teachers certainly would like to be in a well-paid job while private schools usually pay more than public schools. As a result, private schools own more and more and gaps between students in public and private schools will be wider and wider.

To sum up, though high-quality teaching attracts parents deeply, it's unwise to ignore the weaknesses of private education and the implications of unfair distribution of education resource.

My high school is a private school, which attach much importance to education. In my opinion, most parents don't know much about high school, they are just more comfortable with the strict education of private schools.

First of all, choosing which kind of school is a decision of others. But for me, I won't let my child to attend a private school if I'm rich one day. Just because child easy to form comparison psychology among the students.

Maybe you're right, but in my opinion, I think private schools are good. Private schools are more expensive than public schools, but the quality of teaching is excellent. And the increase in private schools will also promote education quality in public schools.

The views of private education vary from person to person. There is no denying that private schools possess more advanced educational resources and more high-profiled teachers, but the tuition fees are really expensive. On a personal note, pulic education is more fair.

To be honest, I know that my opinions are one-sided for I solely considered the situation of private schools in my hometown. Some private schools have to a large extent high-quality teaching and also cultivate students' comprehensive abilities. Under such situation, if one is rich enough, it' better for his/her child to attend private school.

What you said is indeed right, of course. And I never denied the advantages private education has. The high-quality teaching in private schools, on one hand, can promote public schools to improve theirs, but before that, unfairness of the distribution of educational resource will become a hot potato.

You're right. In my hometown, many students attend private schools mainly by spending a lot of money or internal relationship with leaders rather than passing the entrance examination. It's unfair for poor and struggling students. What' more, on account of the improper ways, there are many students who do badly in study attending the private schools. Therefore, teachers can hardly unify teaching methods to suit both of them, which is also unfair.
