There are two kinds of lies. One is the black lie and another is the white lie. The White lie means you bend the truth because of some reasons. And the black lie is in contrast to the white lie.
There was a survey about lie by a famous psychologist. According to the results, only 7 people professed to have told no false hoods among 147 people and the other 140 participants told 1535. Thus it can be seen that the high frequency of lies in our daily life.
Faced with this phenomenon, it is easy to ask why. Why do people tell so many lies?
For people who tell the black lie, maybe their aims are to hurt others, to get profit, to avoid punishment or to boast themselves. As for the people who tell the white lies, their purposes are to protect others or to maintain the relationships.
As far as I'm concerned, sometimes the truth is too sharp and we can't look it straightly without fibs. The white lies just like lubricant which can reduce the friction in our life efficiently. Our life needs lies and what we really need are the white lies.

- I agree with you. Our life is based on lies and nearly everyone tell lies. We can't be so hard on them even we find because we ourselves know clearly that we need lies.

- Some lies could be forgave, that is white lie. The black lie may be turned one's nose up beacuse of the bad purposes. Sometimes we could not confront with the reality directly, thus we need white lie to allievate our feelings. However I tend to reassure myself by taking decisive actions when I confront with plights.
