The past several years have witnessed a burgeoning economy in China. However, it is increasingly difficult for college undergraduates to find a decent job.

 There are several factors contributing to this social phenomenon. One of the most common factors is that with the development of economy and society, competition is increasingly fierce. College students should be well equipped with practical experience while still in college. Summer and winterholidays should be used to gain valuable work experience. Another contributing cause is the expectation of employment. A large number of graduates tend to give first priority to earnings and aims for well-paid position in some big companies. For they won't accept any low-paid job, many opportunities have been lost. Last but not least, many college students lose themselves in university life. They become aimless, unmotivated, and mediocre. A four-year college is a valuable time to improve students' learning and comprehensive abilities. They should use this time effectively.

 From what has been discussed above, I claim that college students should be encouraged to broaden their horizons with more activities to improve their abilities, which is the best way for them to get a clear perspective of what they are hoping to do with their lives and why. Students with such a perspective can gain the competitive edge in the future career.
