Recently, the growth of competitive gaming at colleges which mirrors the broader rise of e-sports brings back the focus of the discussion whether we should prohibit the young from e-sports activities.

When it comes to this issue, people's opinions vary from person to person.Quite a few citizens are in favor of the idea that e-sports are a waste of time and money which turns the teenagers to be playboys without ambitions considering its entertainment. As a result, they strongly oppose the children's activities related to e-sports. However, other citizens stand on a different ground. They consider it unreasonable to completely ignore the development potential of e-sports as an occupation. E-sports are not only for entertainment, but also carry the dreams of teenagers.

There's some truth in both arguments. However, as far as I'm concerned, the later opinion holds more weight. To begin with, as the rapid development of modern information technology, e-sports have received increasing attention as a new electronic industry which can not be ignored. What is more, it is time that we should change our past prejudices against e-sports given that e-sports have been nominated for the 2020 Olympics Games. In addition to the above-mentioned reasons, one more point that can not be ignored is that to some extent, e-sports have become a culture which we need to inherit and carry forward.

To sum up, within manageable limits, we have no right to deprive a child of his e-sports dreams and I hope that people's prejudice against e-sports will continuously decreases.
