Youth is not just about having a love affair, but also about skipping school and fighting and cheating. Attracted by the theme and public praise, I went to see Bad Genius yesterday. Before watching the movie, I learned that it was based on a real case.

As a student, I was always afraid of cheating in exams. And in high school, I really knew someone who cheated in the exam had a better grade than mine. By the way, I always think that only the person whose grade is good enough would help others cheat and not worry about being exceeding. The heroine named Lynn is such a person. She is so clever that she attended a noble school for free. And she and a girl called Grace became friends. At a time, because stage actors are required to have at least a 3.5 GPA, Lynn did not want Grace to be upset, so she circulated an eraser which was written the answer. And then, Grace told this to her boyfriend Pat. Since then, Lynn helped many students cheated in exams for money until she was caught in the final exam. She was disqualified from the scholarship and applied to study in Singapore. Her father was disappointed and angry, which made her feel guilty. But Grace asked her for help again. She initially did not agree but finally struggled to agree. They made a perfect and secret plan. But they needed another person for the reason that Lynn cannot remember all the answers. Bank is the best choice. He lived a poor life with his mother. He was the only one who was eligible to apply the scholarship for aboard after she was cancelled. It seemed that he had a promising future. But he was missed the exam because he was beaten by someone the day before, which was meant a lot to him. For a variety of reasons, he joined the plan. Then, he and Lynn went to Sydney for STIC. However, unfortunately, Bank was caught and he cannot go back with Lynn. After return to Thailand, he was dropped out of school because of cheating. Lynn did not take the money. She and Grace were not friends anymore. At the end of the movie, Lynn surrendered herself.

I could still remember two sentences Lynn said. She said “even if you are honest, life still deceives you” when she asked Bank to join them. But at the end of the movie when Bank asked her, she said “everything depends on me”. Someone would think the change of Lynn maybe a little bit strange, but a man's mind is unpredictable. Personally speaking, the film is not only about cheating and exams but also about values, morality and social class. In addition to what it wants to express and satirize, its plot and score are also excellent. But I have to say that the soundtrack for this movie was too frightening for me.

All in all, it is a movie worth watching.
