It is an old topic but still useful and practical nowadays, and this feeling becomes stronger since my I begin to lose weight. The only thing can be gained without pain is fat. One day when I took out a skirt bought in last year which is little larger for me that time but now get stuck on my lap I realised how much fat has been hidden in heavy coat during cold days. So I dropped snacks, picked up sportswear then went to the gym.
The first pain I undergo is taking money from my pocket for the VIP card and then second but the most painful one, exercise. As a person didn't exercise usually, the first run on the treadmill almost killed me, my breath was rapid and legs got ache but the calorie I burned in 40 minuets was not more than a half pack of plums. Moreover, losing weight requires not only exercise but also reasonable diet, in other words, no needless intake. That's the third pain, it means that no more snacks and I have to calculate calories of everything I eat in a day, as well as when I see somebody eating fried chicken at dinner I just go away with my little apple.
In the suffering of the night without dinner I begin to think why don't I think about how painful it is to lose weight in the future when I ate those junk food, and it make me realise no matter what I am to do, think twice whether it worth it and the consequences it could result. But no pain, no gain, the wealth of Ma Yun is not if the condition is being this and I decide to make it change no matter how painful it is the experience will be worth it.
