What kind of international?

Last Sunday, I was taking part in a so-called International Marathon Race which was held in my city.
When I opened the Runner’s Guide a few days before the race began, I could see nothing written in English except the race title on its cover.
"What kind of international race without any English introduction?" I was thinking.
Anyway, I finished my part of the race I had entered for. During which I hadn't seen even one foreign runner.
After the Marathon, I realize that the word International may have been abused.
It seems as if a title doesn't include the word International, the activity would not be able to reach a high level and taste.

- The word "International" is just a word for advertising, let more people take part in such event.

- that's right. if they put some English introduction into the Runner's Guide. things would be better

- I joined Zhuhai Marathon Race yesterday, they didn't use the word International, but they offered bilingual hosting, and the atmosphere was very good.

- Such kind of an event exists in many of these cases. Some hotels and malls, official buildings are named after fashionable titles with words such as INTERNATIONAL and something like that.

- exactly, even some of the academies would use the word in their title frequently. international is like a magic word to help things get a higher class.
