Little children believe that Santa Claus would fly in the sky, a plump, kind, old man carrying a large sack and sat on a sled. A reindeer would draw the sled in the sky. When it snows in winter, children would believe that Santa Claus will surely arrive on Christmas Eve and bring lots of presents for them. Santa Claus would slide throught the chimneys when all the children were asleep, and put the gifts in the children's stockings.

Before children sleep, children would put their red, clean stockings on their beds. And the next day, they would receive their Christmas presents.

Harry Potter spent Christmas in his school. Owls sent packets to the students on Christmas. Each year, Harry received Christmas presents from Ron's mother, Ron and Hermione. He had green sweaters, a broom or biscuits. When he received a new broom, he was excited, because he was able to ride on the broom and fly up. A close relative sent the broom to him. His aunt and uncle were muggles. They are stingy. They seldom sent Christmas gifts to Harry. Or they just posted one penny to him. But Harry never complained.

Laura in a log house received a doll for her Christmas gift. After two years, they moved to the praire. It did not snow before Christmas, and the creek was full of water. Laura and Mary thought Santa Claus would not be able to cross the river and reach their house. They thought without snow, Santa Claus would not be able to slide in the snow. They were disappointed.

However, on Christmas Day, they took lots of gifts from their red stockings! Tin cups, long sticks of candy, delicate cakes topped with white sugar, and coins...

The children felt cheerful.
