It was a quiet afternoon in autumn. I walked out from the library with several books in my hand. The fallen leaves were rolled up and flew freely with a smooth gust of wind, forming a lithe and graceful picture. I couldn't repress a smile and enjoyed such a comfortable time. Just at this moment, I saw an old couple walking slowly on the street, holding hand in hand. Gazing at their receding figures, I was greatly touched by it. What is love? That is love.
I believe love is an eternal theme of human beings. When you first fall in love with someone, you may have a fervent love; when your mate gives you a surprise, you may feel that's a sweet love; when you both cheat each other, you may be in a spurious affection; when you don't know really each other but just stay together uncomfortably, you just own a vulgar effection.
My class adviser of the junior middle school once observed," The first love is the most beautiful and unforgettable, therefore, you should consider it valuable and collect it appropriately, cherishing in the hope that you will definitely meet your Mr./Miss. Right." Over the years, I've come to realize that you would meet many people you deeply love, but the first love in your life is just once. My teacher's words are right, but I still think after I own my own love that love is not a matter of time. A couple of my friends knew each other since childhood. They went to school and home together, chatted and played with each other, and shared one another's happiness and sorrow. They were considered to be a perfect match in their schoolmates' eyes. See? If you really meet the one, isn't it a loss if you just pass it by?
So maybe we will whink about a relatively serious question---What is true love?
Only when you feel bored or have nothing to do, you want your boyfriend to kill time with you. Is it true love? No.
You live a very plain life with your husband, and you seem to have no hope and desire about future or never think about your relationship with your husband. Is it love? No.
You both feel love may or may not be needed. You will never miss him or just miss a little in an appointed time. Is it really a true love? Absolutely not.
At one time, you meet him, and he meets you; more luckily, you have a linked heart, then here goes the love.
The true love is---When you fix your gaze on him, you will see yourself in his eyes and even can't move for a second; when you prepared a little gift for him, you will put your whole heart to decorate it so order to make him smile for a while; when you miss him so much that you just want to pick him from your dream and hug him for real.
The true love is---You both are willing to share each other's pleasure, anger, sorrow and joy; you are happy to take care of your beautifu love and use your whole energy to watch it, guard it and defend it; you can make some unexpected surprises in your life because you both know that it's those small daily happenings that make life spectacular.
At least in my opinion, that is true love.
The old couple's figures remind me time and time again that a true love really can stand the test of time. Only by learning tolerance, care, generosity and understanding can you guard and keep your love forever. It's like a good wine, the longer it is kept, the richer the fragrance will be.
Here's is a favorible poem written by a famous poet---William Bulter Yeats. Just enjoy.
When you are old and grey and full of sleep
And nodding by the fire, take down this book
And slowly read ,and dream of the soft look
Yours eyes had once, and of their shadows deep.
How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;
And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur,a little sadly,how love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead.
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars .
