Yesterday the Shanghai’s official statement of production recovery somehow revealed a hope for its citizens. And the lockdown has made the mega city stagnant for months. Economy is almost undevelopable and people’s life is caged by moving nowhere else. Meanwhile many other cities are still in the face of lockdowns and currently it has no clues when it is going to end. We somehow have already gotten used to be this pandemic.
As a matter of fact, virus emerge with an extreme longer history than human beings do. Billions of years ago, the earth had already come out microorganism. Those tiny little things are undetected by naked eyes. In 17th century, Antonie van Leeuwenhoek was the first to observe and to experiment with microbes. Using single-lensed microscopes of his own design and make, he started to know the existence of micro creatures.
Our environment is with microbes and they have learnt to be living with everything around. In the soil, water and air, beneath the ground and rocks, amid our vessels and intestines, etc., everywhere they can be traced. We still have a lot to study and understand their behaviors, and should stand in awe of their existence.
