It’s funny how the human mind works. We can spend half an hour debating what to eat, five minutes wondering whether we actually locked the door, and an entire day convincing ourselves that tomorrow will somehow be different, even though it is built from the same ingredients as today.
We keep telling ourselves to sleep early, yet end up scrolling through our phones late into the night, looking at things we don’t even care about. We buy fresh notebooks to “start over,” then let them sit untouched on a shelf, full of potential no one ever uses. And every Monday, without fail, we declare, This week, I’ll finally get my life together. We even pick up new workout clothes and tell ourselves we’ll start running and get in shape, yet we continue to eat like we always do, and the workout gear ends up becoming part of the furniture.
Maybe that’s the charm of being human, because we are continually a work in progress. We dream in big strokes, move in tiny steps, and occasionally do nothing at all. But we keep trying, adjusting, tripping a little, then laughing at how inconsistent our own behavior can be.
And in the end, through all that messiness, life becomes interesting.
