Sudden descent of summer

The hot summer comes this week, earlier than usual, but with the similarity of coming all of a sudden as before. A short period ago there appeared occasional hours of hotness, and I couldn’t dare to reduce my wear though I felt sweaty. Now it seems that the weather has been steady and I took off my sweater and woolen trousers these two days and with the knitwear only. Summer usually arrives here at the beginning of June. The corn seedlings have come out in the fields in the high daytime temperatures nearly to 30℃. People begin trying to avoid sunlight and seek the patronage of shade. And we’re likely to doze by day and it is a bad season for study. Soon the net curtains and door against flies should be installed. `

Rainy Sunday morning

It was rainy on last Sunday morning. The dim light in the curtained bedroom was comfortable for more sleep in the morning. There was nothing urgent for dealing with except for paying the milkman at about six thirty. Recently on fine days between weekends I tended to wake up after four o’clock a. m. because of the bright light intrusion outside. At such times I would lie on in an attempt to go to sleep again and didn’t get up until 5:30. If getting up too early, I would get sleepy by day. It won’t do at school. To keep awake at night for work is unbearable. The night shift worker can’t sleep well by day even in a dark quiet room. The living clock of human beings should correspond with the rotation of the earth. Otherwise our health would be harmed.

To the satisfaction of all

Children’s Day is around the corner. Our school chief decided to celebrate the festival by then. Every class is required to give one performance or two on the occasion. And excellent students will be commended; every class will receive inspection by walking in procession. Therefore some enthusiastic head teachers have begun to train their students in advance. Students of Grade Eight are well stimulated by their teacher in charge. All students of the class bought uniforms as proposed. Ms Xu, teacher in charge of the class, learnt that most of the students hate to study in my classes of geography and biology and makes all the students practice their programs  whenever I should give a lesson to them. This satisfies their desire to play on the one hand, on the other I can be released from the position for reading and writing. So both them and I am pleased with the arrangement.
