I have been reading a book called the 8th habit of highly effective people these days. A strong impulse of sharing what I gained from this book came to me. Some highlights in this book really revitalized my interests and brightened up my life to some extent.
Central to this book is the simple idea that ‘Find Your Own Voice in Your Heart’. When I looked at these words, my first impression was I don’t even know what my own voice is. Reading closer and deeper, I got to understand what the book tried to convey, my own voice refers to what I really desire for, literally, my dream. It may sound naïve, but when you realize chances are great for you to embrace your dream, you will be as much passionate as I am now.
In our everyday life, we take orders from our bosses like prints or reports, naggings from our teachers to attend lectures, or even friends’ needs for help. These can be named as stimulus. In accordance, we take actions, which would be response. Well, between these two elements, there is a space or period of time for us to think, to find out more information, and eventually to make the right call. We see it as interval, an essential factor of making a difference.
Statistically, a great many people don’t even bother to think of the possibility of rejecting. They are regarded as goody boys and girls who react exactly to the demand regardless of their reluctance. However, that is not the way of being happy. Ask yourself, what I really fancy and why on earth I am doing this. Be a person who voices your own ideas, other than follows the orders blindly.
Truth to be told, I had a plurality of intents to write something for what I have in mind, but I never put it into practice. Normally, I would like to excuse myself for the overburden homework or overly occupied timetable. However, deeply in my heart, I know where the problem is, that’s my conservative ideas of being a perfectionist that contradicts to my own voice. Therefore, I am going to slow down a lit bit and take a serious thinking what I really want.
