What do you get from English?

English as an international language is very popular in China, it is a basic skill for everyone to communicate with other people, so how to make people to be interesting in English become very important. Frankly speaking, I can’t find the funny to learn English for a long time even if I have to talk with foreign colleague. But I know it will be a stumbling block for my promotion, so I try to seed many kinds of English software to learn English; now it is better than before; I don’t know how about you, maybe you have more experience to share with us, waiting for you!

- English can bring me a lot confidents. I only remembered before I hesitated to talk with my foreign colleagues, or shy to argue with others in the department meeting, now I can express my points smoothly in English.

- English knowledge is the key to open doors to new higher opportunities.
This knowledge would allow you to have higher income and promotion. English can be useful when you travel overseas and English is common in almost all the countries of the world. Anywhere you go, you won't become lost if you know English.
My father told me that in the 1980's, very few people knows English in China. Now when I travel in China, quite a lot of Chinese people give me help in English at railway stations, buses or on the streets. Some are students and some are office workers etc. They are not afraid to speak to a foreigner like me and they could speak quite well too.
Learning English is never easy because it is not your own language. You have to learn useful words and put them into writing. However, when you can write a basic composition, you have succeeded and can improve from there. When you can write, speaking is no problem, but only need some practice in speaking.
Whether to learn English of not depends on the person himself. Some people are happy just to be an ordinary lowly worker, then they don't need to learn much, but those who have knowledge of English, they can always progress to something better.
You may still be able to survive without English, but you will need to have some special skill or work experience, but with English and experience, you would be a useful and independent person.
Knowledge is power.

- Whatever we like it or not, we have to admit that English is important. Not just for work, but also for life. Some might think it is nothing, because they do not need English in life and work, and they still live well. Yes, they can say that. While those who master English well can get more chances, such as promotion, and chances to get a better offer, know more about the world. Most of news and presses and some others are printed in English all over the world, so it is quite important for us to learn it well.
The point is we want to learn, we are not pushed to do that. No one will tell us to learn it. Those who really want to learn and keep it everyday are with high self discipline and strong will. They are those persons who are more likely to succeed.
