Plane or Train?

There are more and more people would like to choose train instead of plane during the trip. As fas as we know, plane has its advantages, such as time-saving, comfortable, and so forth. Some disadvantages also pertain to the commercial jet. If a crash happen to the plane, none will return to life. In this year, more than seven air crisis had taken place, people become more concern about the security of aircraft. Under this phenomena, train become the optimal choice for who often on business. At least, no one want to be missing.
For myself, I'd like to choose train. Not only aircraft is not safe, but also I can walk, talk, eat in anytime I would like in the train. My phone is power on, I can surf the internet, send massages, play games. I can read books, listen musics. It's more comfortable.

- Yes, the recent airplane disasters are sending shivers up my spine. I also love to take trains instead because I can enjoy the scenery along the way and people are more relaxed. No fun trapped in the cabin of an aircraft.

- I think it is too expensive and dangerous for long trip by air. And train is the best choice, it is safe and economic .

- Although the mortality rate of plane is the highest, I'm afraid for now there is no other transportation could replace it. Because time is money, especially for businessmen. We can only hope the airlines could pay more attention to the security.

I read a article a few years ago about the jobs that are most likely to kill you. They were 1) roofer, 2) taxicab driver, 3) commercial airplane pilot. If flying is so much safer than driving, why do many pilots die? I had to ask myself.
There are two reasons. First, many paid pilots fly small planes in dangerous situations. For example, they fly crop dusters and spread chemicals over farm fields. They have to fly close to the ground and trees and often have accidents. Others fly into remote areas such as the Arctic or land on dirt fields in Africa. Those areas are more dangerous.
However, there is a second reason flying is more dangerous. By the hour, it is about equally dangerous to being in a car. That is, planes and cars crash in roughly equal numbers (planes are VERY slightly safer, because they are more carefully checked and managed). However, planes fly faster than cars driver. Planes go 200-500 miles in an hour and cars go 30-60 miles in an hour. Therefore, by the mile (distance travelled), planes are about seven times safer then driving the same distance by car. However, by the hour, planes are only slightly safer. Why? As noted above, people may not check their tires or car parts as carefully as commercial passenger planes get checked. Few airlines would fly with very old tires or worn out controls. But people drive old cars all the time.
