The Dragon Boat Festival is coming to us again. At the time every year the people is getting busy to prepare the food for the festival. The most typical food is Zongzi(rice pudding) made of rice, meat or red dates. Now we can see many kinds, sizes of Zongzi in the market. And when the day is coming Some housewives are making the Zongzi by themselves they think this is the really good Zongzi and they can really feel the Festival. When I came and lived in South China, I know the eggs of duck are also traditional food for the festival. And in some places there are going to be dragon boat racing. As all know all the activities is in memory of great patriotic poem Qu Yuan.

I lived in countryside of Tianjin, north of Chinawhen I was young. I don’t know there is a festival named Dragon Boat Or (May 5, lunar calendar), later I know the old people know this but they treat it as normal day and don't have special activities. In my young memory there are only two festivals: Mid Autumn Day and Spring Festival. In recent years the situation changed with the people living conditions getting better. In my hometown the people are treating Tomb-Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival very seriously and at least they will cook delicious food and the family members will reunion to spend the day.

I will stay at home with my family and will cook my best food for them. And may arrange some movies, or visiting some friends.
