It was my first time that I stayed up so late last night since I came here. I was struggling to get up this morning as there are a lot of tasks that are awaiting to be done.Anyhow ,I still need to finish my everyday story translation first and then devote into other tasks.I should insist on.
This is Lesson 19 from New Concept English.
Lesson 19 Sold Out
My translation:
"The play will start soon,"I said.
"Maybe it has already begun,"Susan answered.
I was hurry to the ticket counter ,and asked:" Can I buy two tickets?"
"Sorry , the tickets have been sold out ."The girl said.
"What a pity!" Susan said loudly.
At the moment, a man hurried to the tickets counter.
"Can I cancel this two tickets?"He asked.
"Of course you can."The girl said.
I returned back to the tickets counter again.
"Can I buy those two tickets?"I asked.
"Of course, but they are for next Wendesday, are you sure you want?"
"I'd better buy it."I felt disappointed.
The original translation:
'The play may begin at any moment,' I said.
'It may have begun already,' Susan answered.
I hurried to the ticket office. 'May I have two tickets please?' I asked.
'I'm sorry, we've sold out,' the girl said.
'What a pity!' Susan exclaimed.
Just then, a man hurried to the ticket office.
'Can I return these two tickets?' he asked.
'Certainly,' the girl said.
I went back to the ticket office at once.
'Could I have those two tickets please?' I asked.
'Certainly,' the girl said, 'but they're for next Wednesday's performance. Do you still want them?'
'I might as well have them,' I said sadly.
