My mentor
It's been a while since I wrote last English blog. During this period, so many things happened. I became an intern of a world famous company. It is kinda of honour to work here.
I clearly remember before I got here, I was interviewed by many departments of my current company. For some complicated reasons, I failed again and again. I was very disappointed at that time that I didn't even enjoy my summer vocation very well. Finally, I was accepted by a team. I really apreciate my interviewer. Without his help, I would not have the chance to work here. He acted as my mentor during the period I work in his team. Although his only one year older than me, he has profound knowlege of Computer science and rich experience. He just looks a little old, before I know his real age, I thought he is ten years old than me. One time I asked one of my upperclassman if my mentor is ten years older than me, he could scarcely suppress a laugh . He said if my mentor heard my words he might cry.
During three months I work in his team, he taught me a lot. Before I was about to transfer to other team, he asked me to stay. I accepted at first, however, I left finally for very complicated reasons. Before I left, I bought my uperclassmen and my mentor a dinner as a thanks. But still, I feel sorry to him and the manager. I hope , someday, I can repay them. Oh, I nearly forgot, he bought me a dinner as a welcome, using his own money.
As a huge company , it has many cultures. As far as hiring employees is concerned, they are more likely to hire interns. Because it is nearly impossible to know a person just through several interviews. A manager can know the intern very well during the long term internship. And compared to students who hasn't been accepted, an intern can transfer to other team much more easily.
That's why I am grateful to my former mentor.
