I did sales because I was influenced by my family where my mom and aunt are saleswomen, rather than I was so eager to make money. That’s why I sacrificed so much time in sales, suffering the prejudice from my classmates when I was in university.
I sold newspapers, mobile phones, cosmetics, outdoor sports utensils, even my clothes, books, music CDs before my graduation.
The most unforgettable sales experience was the sale of newspapers. Inspired by a senior student, who sold newspapers for making money; so I did to accumulate the experience of interpersonal communication. Indeed, I learned a lot though this process, although it was just one day. The weather was very hot and suffocating in the summer time, when I arrived at the newsstand, the newspaper that I need to sell had yet arrived. I talked with the boss to spend the time before the minibus came. It was 30 mins late after the preset time. I was sweat and hope it would go to the next step eagerly. Two men got out the minibus, opened the rear cover, took out two bunches of the newspapers. How heavy they were! I looked at the stuffs, and thought. Good luck, leaving the words, they disappeared along the street.
I asked every pass by to buy the newspaper, but it looked like no effective. Everyone seemed so busy to walk. After I promoted for half an hour, I just sold one paper. Why they wouldn’t are willing to buy my products? Maybe I should stick on to selling, I need more time. The boss saw all the process of my selling, he gave me a good advice then, if I blend the material water with the newspaper together, with the slogan of buy material water and a newspaper for free instead of that of buy the newspaper and a material water for free. Taken his advice, I was surprised to see the increase of the sales. Within 1 hours, I sold 10 newspapers. Soon, the deadline came. The two men came again; they needed to bring back the newspapers which were still not sold out. How happy I was when I was told I was the No.1 of sales this time!
The time between 10:30 to 14:30 was hardship, boring and desperate, but I overcame it, and I also got the triumph, although I wasn’t given the virtual prize, I was recognized by the employer.
