On Tuesday, I returned to China from Pakistan.
After resolved 3G problems, my client went to PTCL with me to have a test, but there was a new guy there, who said he had to arrange a test for us. So we didn’t have choice but to return.
On the road, for the first time, I could see Islamabad. It was a peaceful city with spring view everywhere. In PTCL, there wasn’t a woman there, all workers were male. Though its headquarters wasn’t magnificent elsewhere, it was indeed nice in Pakistan.
I hadn’t much time left for me to enjoy a supper with clients, instead, ordered a piazza. On the road to airport, the police blocked all vehicles and we had to wait for one and a half hours. I was really panic for it was already 23:00.
The old driver drove really fast in order to send me to the airport in time. When we arrived at the airport, we had to wait for a long time to park. The old driver couldn’t speak English and we finally went out of the car to run to the airport. He was an old man with white beard, but carried my trunk and run quickly. I was really moved.
There was a Pakistani guy carried my trunk to rush toward the boarding gate and then I said goodbye to the old driver. I only had half an hour left and I was a little worried.
Finally the guy brought my trunk to the waiting hall and he asked me for tip. I worked in the Pakistani company all the time and hadn’t got time to exchange money. I offered him RMB and he said no. He said he could use English money and I knew he wanted US dollar. I had $1500 in my wallet, of course I wouldn’t give him $100. I gave him 5 RMB instead and he had no choice and was a little disappointed. Finally I added him another 0.5RMB and he accepted it reluctantly.
During my waiting for plane ticket, there were several power failures in the airport. I had never been through this kind of things at airport. When I finally got my plane ticket, it was already 00:00 and my plane was supposed to take off at 23:43. A lot of fellow passengers were still waiting for their tickets and none of them worried. So I calmed myself down, there was no reason for the plane to take off with so many passengers left behind.
There was a Huawei guy standing before me and I had a chat with him. The guy worked in branch company of Huawei in Pakistan. He could only visit his hometown once a year. I only spent half a month in Pakistan and felt exhausted, but the guy spent half a year. Judging from his sallow face, I could know the life was really hard for him, but the pay was really good. Hardship for money.
After two hours, the plane finally came. The Thailand airline gave plane for Pakistan, really old, there wasn’t even a video screen for you to watch. Probably Thai Airline thought it was unnecessary to allot a nice plane to go to Pakistan. When I took the plane from Bangkok to Hong Kong, the plane was better and I could enjoy the latest movie.
I also took a lot of photos with my mobile phone, who knew it was only in vain? When I arrived at Hong Kong airport, I walked around to enjoy the beautiful airport and took a lot of photos. While mooching around the shops inside the airport, my mobile phone was gone. Life was really a box of chocolates; you would never know what you would get.
Then I took the bus to Shenzhen, there were two girls behind me chatting in Cantonese. Probably they thought Cantonese was much advanced than Mandarin. I had no mood to enjoy the scenery of Hong Kong and only had a nap. After a sleepless night, I was really hungry and sleepy. I felt life was really fragile and people could be really helpless alone in the outside world. I must be really careful next time. It was lucky I didn’t lose my wallet or passport, or else I would get in trouble really.
When I arrived at Golden Rooster Baila, the company sent a bus to send me home especially. I chatted with the driver about my bad luck. He felt strange that why my mobile phone was stolen since it was only a cheap Motorola mobile phone. I bought this phone at the price of 2100 RMB a year ago and it only cost 830RMB now. When I thought of the price difference, I hated Motorola a little. Sometimes when I thought of some bad things, I found them were nothing to another person. I lost my mobile phone and the driver thought it was nothing. So sometimes don’t think too much of yourself, because your things meant nothing to people around you. Even you yourself meant nothing to them too. Don’t seek comfort from other people because it was a fragile habit.
When I finally came to my little room, I had a sound sleep without supper. I felt my life was really a mess by the trip, however, had to admit I widen my view and became more mature. I gotta to become a real man, so I must go through all kinds of hardship of life, among which the trip was only a small piece of cake.
