I haven’t written something for a long time. This afternoon I decide to write something to summarize the past year.

    When I came here, it was 2010. I was passionate to learn English and even dreamt of being a man who could earn his life by writing. Thinking of this, I can’t help laughing at it. Since I don’t have my own business, I can only talk about my career.

    Once, I was dreamy and romantic, now I’m gradually becoming practical, only in the deepest place of my heart, there is still fantasy.

    First all, I’d like to talk about my career. I learn both English and network at the same time, both of which are necessary skills for junior staff. As for English, I can still manage it, but for network, the lacking of platform big enough is a headache for me. So I start to think of changing company so that I can develop myself further.

    To be honest, working in the current company isn’t bad. I’m my own boss and I don’t have to work overtime, in a word, I get the biggest freedom of an employee, why am I still not satisfied? The company is just like a basin of warm water, I want to leap out of the basin before I have the ability. R and L are my colleagues, R came to the company in 2005, now he had no saving besides freedom and leisure, what’s more, I guess he doesn’t have courage enough to find another job with equal pay. If you have the same ability as a younger guy, there is no doubt every company will employ the younger one. L came to the company in 2007. Originally he was in charge hardware department of R&D, but the boss let another guy replace him. Now he is in charge of box and case, still he doesn’t have courage to find another job. Maybe he isn’t confident enough to find a new job with equal pay, what’s more, he is a mortgage slave.

    These two colleagues are just like two mirrors, I can see myself through them. The company hasn’t offered year-end bonus for two years. Though I got salary raise, lacking of year-end bonus makes me have the same pay as in 2012. I was a little angry and tried to find a new job, probably the director discovered it and gave me another salary raise last month.

    Actually I care about the opportunity of development more than salary. I kept refreshing my resume for two weeks and got four offers for interview. The first one came from Lieping website, it was Avnet. To be honest, I haven’t heard of it before, but it’s fortune 500 company. By the first sight, I could think of porn website, hehe, AV net. The HR was satisfied with my English, but the technical guy refused me politely for the lack of working experience in big company, in other words, he didn’t think I had the necessary experience of being a senior network engineer for Avnet.

    The second one came from Huizhou. It was a medium-sized company in Huizhou, but it could only offer me 7.5k at most. Probably I’ll think of it if I want to live in Huizhou, but not now.

    The third one came from Cisco Dalian, I missed it for the sake of working place. I didn’t want to work in Dalian because I liked the city Shenzhen.

    The fourth one came from Huawei. The biggest concern was its huge pressure. I had an interview in Huawei data center, but the guy refused me with the same reason of Avnet. Seeing the guy’s white hair and sallow face, I didn’t think it was a regret I missed my opportunity, but I was a little angry I went there in vain for the weather was hot, they should tell me on phone. You guys must wonder why I only receive offers from big company. The reason is simple, you just need to clarify your desired salary is above 10k. Medium and small-sized company can’t afford to offer you a salary higher than 10k.

    I guess I’ll work for Z company at last. Old C just brought me an old DSLAM from Z company to the test purpose. I have to make sure it works OK. See you.
