Yesterday afternoon, after patting my son to bed, I made a cup of coffee for myself and watched a movie in English.

Being a housewife, the only time I have for myself is my son’s sleeping time. I planned to recite some pages of my text book, but I changed my ideas the minute when I turn on my computer.

The movie is about the summer holiday of an African middle school boy called Mister. His mother addicted to some kind of drugs, and their life was in poverty. Mister did a bad job in school, and he stayed in the same grade for several years. When he saw his paper got an F, he felt hopeless and couldn’t help of crying.

He tried to persuade his teacher to give him a pass, but the teacher refused. They had a quarrel and Mister left viciously. But when he went back by his skateboard, he saw his mother lying in the bed and did nothing, and a boy named Peter who is a Korean, maybe 7 or 8 years old, was at his room, playing on his game machine.

  Mister hope his mother could get rid of drugs and find some job to improve their living condition, because their credit card was out of use, they had nothing to eat.

His mother was caught by the police days later just in their house. Mister and Peter were hiding themselves in the room but not discovered by the police officer, so you can see that Mister is very smart.

When his mother left, he began his ran away life with Peter, they ran out of money, and food, tap water, without electricity, it’s summer, and their house was broken in by someone, they lost everything.

Peter got a fever, he had to go outside and asked for help, but no one could help, just at that time, Peter was caught by the police and later Mister too. He wants to protect Peter even though his own life was not easy.

Mister is a black boy, but he has his own dream, he is keen on a book, and wants to be an actor. No matter how hard his life was, he tried very hard to make a change and help others at the same time. He is honest, up strict, brave and kind.

It’s a happy ending that his mother finally got back and got rid of the drugs and he went back to school too.
