Summer holiday is approaching. I've spent the past few days working on my WeChat Official Account, sharing English learning materials and personal teaching experiences – a truly fulfilling endeavor. Most resources target young learners, some tailored for primary students, others designed for educators. Within a week, I've gained over 100 followers!
On another note, I'm actively job hunting. After four years in a private school, I've decided to transition out of teaching. Surprisingly, this has proven far more challenging than anticipated due to being over 35. Many employers seem to believe candidates beyond this age cannot meet their requirements. This puzzles me: Is 35 considered old? Surely people in their mid-thirties aren't "elderly" – especially when the government expects us to work until 55-60. Yet companies appear reluctant to hire staff over 35. Quite a contradiction, isn't it?
