Carpe Diem is the Latin sentence I want to burst out and to regenerate myself right now.
Today is Aug. 22nd, 2009. Ten days later, I will get packed and start my journey back to Beijing.
New term will begin and what's more, it's the beginging of my extraordinary and distinctive job hunting trip.
Owing to the global financial crisis, the unemplyment rate has jumped to the roof. Many employers, especially the international corporations, lay off a large number of employees and cut down their recruitment list for graduates without any working experience. Particularly, graduates from certain majors, such as foreign languages, law, and some art-related majors, suffer most from the bad influence financial crisis has brought about. The situation is very tough. The competition in the job market must be the utmost severe.
Some may say if one has firm academic background and prominent competence, he will not worry about the job thing. That makes some sense. One's ability always comes the first. Elites will not be bothered no offer is delivered to him. Of course, we can't deny there are some elements not related to ability and competence, but don't lose confidence. This society always need diligent people capable for work. So for new graduates and laid-off employees, just improve yourself and consolidate your skills, then jobs will come for you.
Thus I will not wait for the lucky goddess to knock at my door, but spare no effort to enhance my knowledge system and prepare myself to get ready for the coming challenge. I am sure my effort will be paid back.
Carpe diem---seize the day. I can do it, I believe myself.
