If you wiped out your saving account and have poured your heart into a project for nearly five month, you can’t help but expecting a best outcome. However, like they said, home decoration is a business for regret. There is always something unsatisfactory regarding home sprucing-up. I’m not saying that I am not happy with my new finished home, I am. Besides despite all those little details that haven’t turned out how I wanted them to, it’s the home I have now, and I love it for all its worth. But sometimes, when I looking back into the past five month, I can’t shake off that tiny nagging thought: “if only?’
TV Wall—A pain in the neck
We shouldn’t use culture brick for the first place. Costly, soil easily, hard to clean, and blends poorly with everything else. It’s a wonder that it could combine so many defects all together. The milk is split, no use to cry for. Mea Culpa. Beginning to end, all the way, I owe this one, and there will never be any hiding from this fact.
Style---American or Modern Simplism
When we choose the style for decoration design, we all agree on Modern Simplism. But the fact is we don’t know a thing about Modern Simplism. How could we know anything about it when we choose coffee bricks and brown doors? We can’t be more wrong! But it’s not unacceptable since I really love coffee and I can live with it----literally. American or Modern Simplism, whatever. I even joked with my husband and said that the biggest style of our house is no-style at all.
Crystal Chandeliers---Another Nightmare
The only explanation I could give for such a terrible choice is I was so tired that I didn’t think straight. Really, it’s no piece of cake to go for a hunt while carrying a 17kg, four-year-old sleeping baby. When we found this shop with a sofa in it, we were screwed. Honestly I would agree any choice my husband made as long as I could put my son on that sofa. However, anything would be preferable to crystal chandeliers! Really we should know better than that. We have a simple-designed frame and a crystal chandelier doesn’t lift it up but on the contrary—to make it cheap and showy. After being joked about three or four times, my husband couldn’t stand it anymore and determined to replace it. I don’t like it either, but for god’s sake, its money we are talking about! Besides, what can we do with it? Finally my mum came to rescue. She is going to spruce up her own home and she agreed to take it over. We bought a Nock Style for replacement at taobao.net, it has not arrived yet. Hope everything would be fine.
Furniture Hunting
We started furniture hunting about a month ago. After Crystal Chandeliers crisis, my husband hesitates at every single decision. It is right to be careful, but we have limited time. I start to feel jumpy, and I don’t remember how many times we agreed about it. Hope this weekend we would have something settle down.
