It’s a remarkable day in history. Today our furniture hunt can be officially completed. After over one month’s tangled search, heating-up arguments, and excruciating negotiation, today, May 15th 2011, we finally found what we want in our living room: sofa, TV bench, tea table, and cabinet---a whole set of living room furniture!

Ironically, it is actually the first furniture that caught my eyes. A whole month’s exhausting hunting simply just confirmed my first choice.

I met this brand about a month ago in furniture fair. It was a love at the first sight. The next day I dragged my husband to take a look. Unfortunately, we parked at the wrong place, and when we finally got there, it was about the closing time. People rushed out, lights went off, flyers everywhere---a complete mess. And my husband, Mr. Orderly hates anything related to chaos. Without a look, he decided that it is a two-bit fair and nothing there worth a check. Following that, we searched almost all the furniture malls in Chengdu. Nothing turned out to be satisfactory, either unsuitable or too expensive or both. I started to feel grouchy. Then one day, a brochure popped up. I remembered what I saw in that furniture fair. By this brochure, I found the location of its factory---Xing fan, an hour’s ride from Chengdu. I persuaded my husband to take a look---or the brochure did, they had a really refined taste about their advertisement.

The factory was not easy to find. We took a wrong turn and found ourselves in a wide open land.

“What kind of factory did you find?” my husband asked ironically. Despite his complaints, I got a hunch that we finally chose the right place to look. Before we stumbled into the field, we saw many furniture factories on the both sides of road. From furniture factory to the market, how many parties got involved in? How could we strike a fair bargain when so many parties tried to snatch a share of their own?

“It’s beautiful. Stop grouchy, take it as an outing instead of a shopping, you would be fine.” I said calmly. “OK, right.” He snapped, but not at all mad.

When we finally arrived, we found that it was a middle-size plant and everything was in order. The person who accepted us is friendly and professional. We found the sofa in fair and slumped in immediately, soothed, pampered and comfortable. I waited for a moment for those dread words like: “wrong color” “too showily” “too soft” “too hard” coming from my husband’s picky tongue---nothing. A miracle! I could actually hear the song of triumphal singing! Besides, the price is also attractive---rightly in the budget.

It took us another hour to choose other pieces, and an hour later everything is done!
