Trip to Europe--Lost my heart in Freiberg

Hot 1723 views. 2016-8-23 15:52 | heart

With the help of the coldness in Mummelsee Lake, I successfully caught a cold. My tongue was sore and red all over when I woke up the next morning. But nothing could stop me from enjoying this journey. I even got up on time to finish my daily English learning. Thanks to the power of team spirit. If I failed to finish my daily homework, the whole team would be deprived of the team rewards. My teammates all showed great support and understanding, however, I can’t bear to drag them behind.

Back to the journey, on the third day we would visit Freiberg in Germany and Spiez in Switzerland.  Comparing to big cities, I preferred more to small European Towns. Freiberg is another university town and has been placed under heritage conservation. An old saying goes around here: “There are only two kinds of people in the world. One is those who live in Freiberg and the other is those who want to live there.  How proud are Freiberg people about this place! Certainly there they have things to boast about.

I’ve visited Churches before, but none of them could give me such sacred feelings like Freiberg Cathedral.  As soon as I stepped inside, I was immediately wrapped tightly up in a holy atmosphere.  I am not a religious person, but at that moment, I did feel something sacred and untouchable in the air. Cameras couldn’t catch the beauty and sanctity of this place.

Like Heidelberg, Freiberg University also scattered in the town. We even found Confucius Academy in an alley! Like many other University Towns, nothing bustle and bustle there. In front of a University Building, students sitting here and there, talking, joking as if they have the whole world in their hands.  I sat down, posing like I were one of them. How I missed those times when I was still a young, innocent girl with all those silly dreams.  Time had just filed by.

In the afternoon, we arrived at Speiz---known as the most beautiful town in the world. Beautiful is not enough to describe this small town. Every house, every yard, every ship, even every rock can slip into a good painting and become an inseparable part of it. Perhaps that is the paradise on earth. However, this paradise belongs only to the rich, and we are nothing but its transient guests.  Everything in Switzerland has a tag named EXPENSIVE to it. 7 Euro for a Coke, 20 Euro for a fast meal…. Even hotel charged us extra 38 Euro per night for our son---same double room, no extra bed provided—In fact I really don’t know what 38 Euro is for.  The receptionist told us that was cleaning fee for one extra person----Okey, you win.  Anyway, one thing to remember: In Switzerland, never convert Euro to RMB in your mind.

Yeah, it's funny. Once we had dinner at a restaurant. 7 Eruo for a tiny vegetable soup, 28 for twice-cooked pork, 20 for a bowl of noodles..... At First, I thought it was not much. Then, I coverted them to RMB: 50 for a one-person soup, 210 for twice-cooked pork, 130 for a noodle.... suddenly i'd lost my appetites. In Korea, I guess we should do the opposites or we might be shocked at all the numbers in the price list
