What will you do when you are angry with someone?

491 views. 2017-10-26 11:31

I guess the answer depends largely on who is “someone”.  The attitude we take varies toward different people. From that point of view, everyone is like a chameleon.

For example, if it is my boss, it is mostly likely that I would eat crow and keep my angers in check. What else can I do? I mean, that man is holding my paycheck. No matter what, money always comes first. I would never want to escalate things into an all-out argument, because the consequence is something I don’t want to face. So, even in anger, I will still try to reason with him.

If it is my son, I will take a deep breath and then remind myself that little jerk came from my uterus. I gave birth to him, I’ve raised him up, in a way, I’ve molded him into what he is now. So basically, whatever stupid mistakes he makes, whatever troubles he causes, I take part of the responsibilities. Therefore, I will catch my anger, force it into a box, and put the lid tightly down. That’s where the breathing stuff working, actually.  I'll try to talk, even close to babbling, some senses into his brain.

However, things will go totally out of control if someone happens to be my husband. It seems that man can always bring the worst part of me out. I don’t know why or how, my reasoning part just slip away. When I am angry with him, I do stupid things, I say things that I don’t meant to. It was even worse at the first years of our marriage. Sometimes I went into a frenzy of destruction, bellowing my rage and frustration as I took out my fury on him.

Later, I’ve learned that love doesn’t always mean rose and wine. There is a line even with the man who loves you, and never cross that line.

Now my husband is still the one that would take on my most part of rage, vice versa. But we’ve all learned to chill out a little bit before things go out of control. We’ve learned it by trial and error.

Anger is a monster, it turns you into the one you dislike the most. Never let it go to your head.

So, whenever faced with anger and whoever you are angry with, grit your teeth, take a deep breath and do the adult thing.
