I don’t have a romantic bone in my body. I seldom celebrate any anniversaries, let alone Valentine’s Day.
However, this year was an exception.
On February 14th, we arrived at Rawi Warin Resort in Lanta island. At the reception, a local girl was bursting to introduce us about their Valentine’s Party. What she said was all clichés, but she had a passionate yet comfortable voice.
It’s not my original plan. There was a famous cliff restaurant nearby. I’d planned to reserve a seat there, but unfortunately it had already been fully booked. It’s Valentine’s Day, after all. I was actually left with not many options.
So, an Valentine’s Party at that moment seemed to be a good idea. For one thing, the party was at the hotel’s beach. We could enjoy the sunset while taking the party. Second, if we could reserve it before 3:00pm, as the girl said, we could have a special offer: get it free for our son. The last but not the least, travelling is about to explore something new, and a Valentine Party is definitely new for us.
It only took me a few minutes to make the decision and now I am glad about that.
Soon, the place beside the beach had been decorated in pink and white with balloons, flowers, and voiles. At the enchanted beach twilight, I felt a stirring warmth flowed through my body. The last sunshine fell with romantic affections upon this place, making everything glow with lovely but mysterious lights.
There was a hushed excitement in the atmosphere, a singing whisper in the breeze, and a hovering promise about that this night would be great and unforgettable.
I glanced seaward and found the sun, minute and far away, settling down gradually with lingering regret, like a child leaving a pleasant street at dusk.
Finally, the twilight faded, and the headlights were turned on, illuminating a happy and exciting scene.
The husband next table started to kiss his wife. It’s Party Time.
The foods were delicious, especially fit to my son’s taste. It was a great night except one minor incident. When we checked out, I found that they still charged my son for the Party. I pointed it out. They apologized immediately and took a long time to make it right.
Anyway, it’s always a good idea to be careful with your bill.
