From the peaks of Mountain Potalaka whispering the secret of centuries in the twilight, to the city square hustle and bustle at day, and into the mythical palaces silhouetted against the glamorous skylines in the evening,the landscape is just a backdrop against this corner of the earth that hidden away from the outside world.

With its blend of the sky and the earth, it’s the shrine of belief and the destination of hope for thousands of pilgrims. Yes, it’s the heartbeat of faith and dedication that can be found in every peaceful smile of the people here.

This is the gateway to Heaven. This is Potalaka Palace.

That’s something I wrote days ago. For the first time in six years, I didn't make any travel plan for summer holiday. With my husband in hospital and there’s still no news about my son’s application to the school, it’s really not the right time.

However, I can’t control my heart, who is desperate to break free, to fly away, to see, to explore the outside world.

Tibet is one of the places I always want to visit. While I was writing, I somehow got my imagination winged and I seemed to really see this land with my own eyes. That’s probably one of the reasons I can’t give up writing.
