For the record, I don’t like giving up halfway. However, there are still things I dropped and I quitted for multiple reasons. And my WeChat public account is just one of them.
Unlike any other WeChat account, I opened it just for fun. It’s not to sell or publicize anything. At first, my son is the only follower---and he even doesn’t know what I am writing about. It’s just a personal zone for me to write whatever I want. I didn’t cater to anyone’s taste but me. So for several my unfortunate readers, most posts are kind of boring.
Since I started to write at WeChat mini-program “EMF Daily Must”, I ditched this place.
Now it’s dear face-the-reality moment.
The other reason, perhaps the major one, I gave it up is I felt kind of sorry for my account.
A Wechat Account is still a wechat account---even the one deprived of its supposed functions. So what if one day I let it slip, saying: “I have a public account.”
And they ask: “How’s your data?”
And I answer: “A few hits and a few friends”
So, you know what I mean. But it’s pathetic to rely on the other’s opinions so much, especially for something minor and unimportant.
Therefore I decide to reopen it, and this time I won’t forget why I’ve started it in the first place. Perhaps one day when my son grew up, he would have a way to know her mother a little bit more.
My place, my call.
