As I sit back and reflect, all I can say is this past year has been so crazy. 

My colleague passed away after a few months’ battling cancer in June. His last message on social media “I pray for all of you in heaven” still echoed in my mind, I was diagnosed with a terminal breast cancer and then my life has stripped down to the most essential one: To survive. 

And year 2020 started with a chain of the disasters: War, fires, airplane crash and virus. The coronavirus swept across our country and has changed the way how we live, how we think and how we function under stress. And then last night a 5.1 earthquake hit Chengdu, shook us out of our dreams and triggered not panic but a serious of puns and jokes flooding the screens instead.

My treatment goes on like indefinitely and I am on standing by, learning and staying ready if my old life comes back. Since last year I have had so much to write about and I really felt very strongly about this post.

Today is hard. Tomorrow is hard. Nothing in life isn’t hard. Enjoy life as possible as you can, meet a better version of yourself at the corner. If you can’t find beauty through tears and pains, you won’t be able to make it through to the very last. I learned this lesson the hard way. Seek faith. Seek hope. Seek joy. Love radically, serve generously. Life is too short and too precious for time to be wasted in fear and worries.

This world needs more humor and positive thinking. We all have ups and downs—we all need courage. You have one life to live, focus on what really matters in life. And embrace life with a smile. Be grateful for the chance to see tomorrow.
