Beijing Sport University

Equiped with modern, hi-tech stadiums and facilities, Beijing Sport University takes you to the cradle of champions—the gymnastic price Lixiaopeng, the weight-lifting world champion Zhangxiangxiang, the Kongfu star Zhaowenzhuo, they all once studied and took trainings here. But that is far from my campus life in Beijing Sport University (BSU). From my perspect of view, the most impressive place is the boulevard. It’s a norh-south avenue, probaly the main street in this university, with the Teaching Building, the Dinning Hall, and rows of students’ apartments lying neatly on both sides.

In the hot June, as you walk onto the boulevard, the color green will impinge on your eye. Tall and big poplars stand in good order on both sides of the street, guarding the scattered people leaving and entering the street—some are busy seniors, walking alone and fast, some are gangs of lovely girls, talking and laughing with beaming faces, and some are typical BSU boys-tall and muscular. The branches of these poplars overlap in their peaks, as a resulf,  you will feel as if you were in a “greenhouse”, shadowy and cool, exclusive of the heat and glare. While you step out of the boulevard, on the way to the Teaching Building, it’s another scenery if you turn back—the bright green adorns the azure blue sky, with cotton-like clouds float leisurelyin it. What’s more, it is the crimson bricks of all the building around that strike you most and make the picture better color-balanced. Every now and then, magpies fly from one twig to another, making the still picture dynamic.

In the cool October, the plump green leaves turn dry and yellow gradully. Then on one morning, probably after a night’s strong wind, when you get up early and walk out of your domitory with your not fully open eyes, you will find that all of a sudden, these leaves fall on the ground in one night, and the bolevard becomes a sea of yellow leaves. It’s the most picturesque moment. Students are the most excied ones—some pick up their favourite leaves and use them as bookmarks, some take photos in order to memorize the rare grand scene, and others even collect a bunch of leaves from the gound and throw them to their friends, just like a snowball fight. As you step on the thick, soft fallen leaves, they creak and groan as if they are saying,”autumn is coming! Autumn is coming!” Unfortunately, this beautiful scene is hard to come across. While the early birds can enjoy it, the lazy guys get up in the midday only to find that all the trees become bare and bald. Suddenly they realize that autumn has really come. In the dust, when the brilliant sunlights turn milder, they penetrate through the branches, forming rays of shiny lights. If you happen to be there, those lights will make you glisten and glitter, as if you are lifting as an immortal.

Winter is a quiet season. No birds are singing, no green is sparking, and even no person is speaking loudly for fear that his voice be frozen in the air. Everything is in hibernation. Nobody would like to stay in the boulevard for long any more, they just pass by as quickly as they can. Poplars still stand strictly, watching people and cars moving beneath them. They never complain about lonliness or coldness. They are waiting, waiting for the coming of the spring.

Finally spring comes. Birds begin to sing, light green struggles to come out from the twigs. With less clother worn, students restore their vigor. There’s a saying that the wholr year’s work depends on a good start in spring. Thus students become as busy as bees, studying, cleaning, exercising. The poplars again become gratified to watch their human fellows coming and going in great number across the avenue from dawn to dust.

Year in , year out. People come and leave, only the scenery remains there. The lovely campus witnesses innumberous people with its broad heart. No matter what happens outside, the campus is always open to embrace you, and the boulevard is still there, waiting for another round.
