Why can we always be kind and friendly to friends or colleagues but not our families? He is a self-centered person who only cares about himself. He never forgives others' mistakes, especially families'. No one likes him in my family, and he is my father. I know he is lonely, but I can't stay close to him. As soon as I talk to him, our talking would turn into a fierce quarrel. Of course, it's clear to me that it's impossible to change one's personality or character. But I don't want him to control me any longer. Now I've grown up and gained my own power to refuse his unreasonable requests and express my opinions . I purposely stay away from him at home in case I heard the bad words which he criticizes about mom or complains about family chores. I guess no one can stand him. Sometimes he is just like a child , do what he wants, say what he thinks right regardless of other's feelings. I 'm confused, why things go like that? Is there anything wrong? I am not able to figure it out. Finally I comfort myself with that everyone has his own way to take and perhaps I shouldn't worry much about him .

- 1. When we are with family members, we are unveiled which is the real side that people do not know in public.
2. You have a long way to go and discover more than you do right now. Maybe years later you will know him better. Whatever the good side or the bad one is, or both of them mixed together, you finally get to understand that it is the real him. And then you will redefine him.
3. No one is perfect and we try to live better.
