I bought this book for over a year. I barely read it although it is a well-known book written by a specialist in early childhood education. The reason why I am able to sit still and read it at the last weekend is because I feel I confront with the new bottleneck, the new problems of parenting, and it is more difficult for me to catch up with my kid’s growth, yet I have to.
I know I have plausible excuses, say, my husband and my parents-in-law don’t share the consistent education spirits with me, or, let it be, I am doing good enough, blah blah blah. But ‘do you really think what you are trying to do is absolutely right?’ or such kind of questions often pop into my head and sometimes I felt frustrated.
Being parents is not an easy thing, we have to learn how to do parental work. While we teach or tutor our kids, we develop ourselves at the same time. Practice to be a parent is very helpful and learning from books or others is another smart choice. However, nowadays, the problem is not we are lack of information and input, the problem is we are buried by the explosive information we get from the Internet and the books. Reading, comprehending, absorbing and implementing, it is definitely not so spontaneous.
In my childhood, candy is sort of a luxury to me. In my kid’s childhood, candy is nothing. Every parent thinks he/she loves his/her kid, and I am sure with it. But how to give the right love to our kids, how to grow up with them positively and develop ourselves at the same time, we have a lot to learn and a long way to go. Come on!
