‘This is a worthful and thoughtful service from me. Don’t you think so, my little belle?’

‘Next time I will offer you my increment service and your satisfaction will be guaranteed.’

‘What is your increment service?’

‘One bought, one free is the answer.’

‘Are you serious, belle?’

‘A word from a man of honor cannot be withdrawn. Now I am your woman. Are you content?’

‘Yes, of course, but as a man I must establish my cause before marriage. Don’t you agree with me, baby?’ He has his own intention.

‘I favor you, Jack. You’re promising. I believe it as soon as I saw you. What’s your recent target?’

‘这是我提供的超值服务和贴心服务，好不好，小甜心？’

‘下回我提供增值服务，包你满意。’

‘什么增值服务？’

‘买一赠一嘛。’

‘当真，小美人儿？’

‘君子一言，驷马难追。人家是你的人啦，痛快吗？’

‘那当然。不过，大丈夫理应先立业后成家，怎么样，宝贝儿？’他另有打算。

‘赞成。杰克，我看好你的潜力。近期有什么打算？’

‘Molly, you know I earn one million this time. You told me that it was high time to invest stocks. Can you tell me something about it?’

‘Yes, of course, it is high time indeed, my little brother. You’re really a lucky generalship because you raise your army group before the advance is blown and the lucky is for you.’ She speaks figuratively.

‘小美人儿，别跟我装文豪行不行？直截了当点儿， 告诉我，买什么。’

Newton invested stocks and failed. So far I haven’t heard any economist dare to invest stocks. In fact, a soldier is suitable to invest stocks in a sense. The reason is simple. You must dare to buy when the value of a stock is much lower than its price no matter what may happen to the price after your buying, vice versa. As for what stock you may buy, it depends on the quality of the company behind the stock. I invoke the stock deity Buffet’s quotation to make a further explanation. It says if you dare not hold the stock for ten years you’d better not hold it for ten minutes. Mr. Buffet is not Chinese after all. His idea may not be suitable to our market. We can develop his idea like this. Because Chinese stock market is not mature we generally don’t hold a stock for a long time and we don’t speculate in it either. The right way is what I mentioned above. There will be a stock saloon next week. I intend to take you with me to attend it. Will you like the ides?’

 ‘Yes, I do. But I’d like you to speak more presently.’

‘Jack, you intend to learn stocks from me when I am naked?’

‘Why not? I want the footing to be more intimate, may I? In that case you contain me and I am in you. We are integrated into one. What a romantic lesson! Don’t you love it?’

‘别那么没有想像力嘛，宝贝儿。要是想在股市里赚钱，最好有点儿想像力。股市不是科学家的乐园，也不是经济学家的天堂。牛顿炒过股票，输得一塌糊涂。迄今，没听说过哪个经济学家敢炒股票。其实，某种意义上，士兵更适合投资股票。道理很简单，那就是，当一只股票的价值远低于其价格时就买入，不管之后其价格会怎样波动，反之亦然。至于买哪只股票，取决于该股票背后的公司的质量。这里引用股神巴菲特的一句话，做进一步说明。他说：如果你不敢十年如一日地持有一只股票，那么，就不应该持有它十分钟。巴菲特毕竟不是中国人，他的观点未必适合中国的情况。我们可以发展他的观点，以适应中国股票市场的不成熟性。我们既不能像他那样长期持有股票，也不可以炒股票。正确的方法就是上面提到的。下周有一个股票沙龙，到时候我带你去看看，想去吗？’

‘嗯，想去。可是，现在想让你多讲讲。’

‘你想让我光着身子讲课吗？’

‘有什么不好？咱们更亲近些，你中有我，我在你中，合二为一，多么浪漫的教学啊。’

 ‘No, little boy, no way, you forget the teacher’s dignity?’

‘Ok, let’s sleep tonight, madam. We don’t want to waste such a sweet night, do we, belle? Let me embrace you, baby.’ His eyebrows are as heavy as a hill.

‘It is proper, little boy. Kiss me before you say good night.’

 ‘不行，小弟，那不行。请注意师道尊严。’

‘好吧。老师，睡觉先。如此良宵佳人，正可及时行乐也。来吧，小美人儿，我搂你睡。’他的眼皮像灌了铅。

‘这才像话嘛，小弟，亲亲我先。’

 

 

 

                Chapter Nine

 

On the first day of the lunar rabbit year Molly and Jack get up very late. It is nearly noontime when they wake up.

‘Jack, are you awake?’

‘Yes, my little belle, how is your sleeping?’

‘I slept soundly in your arms.’ She cleaves to him again.

‘What will we do today?’

‘I intend to take my father to go sightseeing. Will you go with us, baby?’

‘I intend to stay at home reading.’

‘Jack, prithee, go with us, will you? My father rarely comes to the city. This time he comes to see you, his future son-in-law. He must want to know what a man you are through getting along with you several days. If you don’t go with us, he may refuse to go out. I’d like him to take the chance to have a distraction.’

兔年的大年初一，茉莉和杰克起得很晚，醒来时已中午了。

‘杰克，醒了吗？’

‘嗯。小美人儿，睡得可好？’

‘让你搂着，睡得好极啦。’她说着又粘上他。

‘今天什么打算？’

‘带老爸出去逛逛，你也去吧，宝贝儿。’

‘我想在家看书。’

‘杰克，求你啦，一起去吧。老爸来一趟不容易，这次专程来看他未来的女婿，肯定想跟你处处，了解一下。要是你不去，他也不会去，我想让他借此机会散散心呢。’
