‘Don’t worry. You can live in Molly’s house. There are two bedrooms there. You can use one of them. I am there, too. You can set your heart at rest. I’ll protect you. Now let’s go on drinking.’

‘Thank you, Jack. You’re so kind. By the way, you never suspect Molly and Steven? You didn’t even ask why Molly was with Steven when the accident happened.’ She mentions that on purpose.

‘To tell you the truth, I thought of it last night. Then I thought it out. The saying is better. One’s words are kind if one is dying. To say the least, Molly has been dead. I shouldn’t blame her of anything. What’s more, I was the trouble maker. I must be responsible for her death no matter what happened. I know Steven was her friend and he even wanted to marry her. In the city he is her sole friend except me. When she got angry with me she wanted to have someone to talk to. Steven was the only choice of hers. I understand her. I believe she is innocent.’

‘Of course not, Jack, I am very glad to accept your appointment. I’ll try my best to assist you. But I am not capable.’

‘I am sorry I forget that you’re the second stockholder’s widow. It is not fair to let you be my secretary. It couldn’t more to let you be the vice president. Tomorrow is Monday. We will have a meeting of management. I will introduce you to them.’

‘I worry about new product design. Do you have any idea about it, Jack?’ She plays the role so quickly.

‘It is a distant care. The near sorrow is fund. According to the plan, I must invest two million except the bill I will pay Mr. Lee. It is two hundred thousand. I thought to rely on Molly to fetch up the financing gap which is nearly one million.’ He was anxiety-ridden when he mentions the issue.

Here I’d like to introduce his widow, Miss Pearl to you. She will inherit her husband’s stockholding. What’s more, she offers a great contribution to the company by increasing her investment with another five hundred thousand. To express my gratitude to her I will transfer part of my stockholding to her. Her stockholding will be thirty-five percent, mine forty-five. According to the corporation constitution, Mr. Pearl will be the vice president of the company. Let’s applaud to congratulate her.’

‘Thank you very much. I will work hard to repay everyone’s favor.’ Pearl flushes.

‘Now let’s go on the meeting. As you know, we have lost our outstanding designer, Mr. Steven and it is not easy to find another designer to fill the job. We may encounter a difficult situation.
