    距离那一次历险奇遇已经过去了十几年。曾经漫游奇境的爱丽丝（米娅•华希科沃斯卡饰），今年业已19岁，她生活在一个华丽富庶的大庄园里，衣食无忧，生活奢靡，在社会风气的带动下，渐渐的成长为家庭心目中所冀望的那种贵族女子，却早已忘却自己在9岁时的那些奇妙无比的经历。只是在冥冥之中，她总感觉有人在召唤。只有她看得到兔子先生，只有她相信一个奇妙的世界的存在。时光荏苒，在家族为他举办的19岁的生日宴会上，一位富豪的儿子向他求婚，对方是哈米什•爱斯科特（利奥•比尔饰），哈米什虽然家财万贯，性格却愚笨而木讷，还有令人难以忍受的洁癖，跟爱丽丝根本不是一路人。爱丽丝发觉到自己并不想要这样的生活，渴望改变现状的她在逃离盛大的party，在小白兔的带领下，爱丽丝再次步入仙境。
　　这里依然是她童年来过的地方，一切都没有发生太大的变化，有着奇妙的黄色瞳孔的疯帽子先生（约翰尼•德普饰）率先欢迎了爱丽丝的到来，而专断凶狠的红桃皇后（海伦娜•伯翰•卡特饰饰）依然尖叫着要砍掉其他人的头，甚至连自己的妹妹白皇后（安妮•海瑟薇饰）也不放过。在双胞胎兄弟（马特•卢卡斯饰）的帮助下，爱丽丝逐渐地恢复了记忆，她将在这个童话般的奇妙世界里重新审视自己，她发现自己是拯救整个奇境的唯一人选。在毛虫先生的画卷上，爱丽丝看到过去曾经，开始了新的冒险……

    （1）爱丽丝
　　己经19岁的爱丽丝有着自己对未来的思考，成年的她受困于维多利亚时代上流社会妇女们的浅见，无法在自己的梦想与亲朋好友对她的期望之间找到平衡。
　　这个地下世界她还是孩子的时候就曾经拜访过，但现在已经没有任何印象。
　　跌进兔子洞后，爱丽丝又一次遇见了童年的朋友们：毛毛虫阿布索伦，柴郡猫，孪生胖兄弟叮叮和咚咚，当然还有“疯帽子”。爱丽丝忽而变大忽而变小，她以为这一切都是一场梦，“直到地下”那些对她并不十分友善的居民请求她保卫他们的奇幻家园，爱丽丝的挑战来了。
　　

   （2）疯帽子
　　急性子的“疯帽子”不断变换的情绪忠实地反应在他的脸上和着装上。
　　他一直焦急地等待着爱丽丝的回归。他可以说是爱丽丝真正的朋友，当其他居民不愿意相信她的时候，只有他还坚决站在爱丽丝这边。
　　在这个故事中，他勇敢无畏，不遗余力地保护着爱丽丝。
　　

   （3）柴郡猫
　　柴郡猫是一只能随时现身随时消失的短尾猫。他总是带着平静，诱人的微笑来掩盖自己胆怯的个性。
　　这只猫首次出现在爱丽丝被凶险的野兽袭击之时，他通过舔来净化爱丽丝手臂上的伤口。
　　爱丽丝带他出席了“疯帽子”的茶会，而胆小的他却在“红皇后”控制地下世界的时候背弃了朋友。受到“疯帽子”指责的柴郡猫最后凭靠自己的能力和拼命的勇气重新赢得了朋友们的尊重。
　　

    （4）白兔先生
　　永远担心要迟到，永远急急忙忙地赶时间。
　　白兔先生负责找到爱丽丝并将她带回地下世界以完成她的使命。他出现在爱丽丝的花园聚会上，努力诱惑爱丽丝进入兔子洞。
　　

   （5）三月兔
　　他在自己的兔窝主办“疯帽子”的茶话会。
　　他偏执，焦虑，有点疯狂，不断地绞着自己的耳朵和爪子，并抛出茶壶和其他的餐具。
　　他偏爱烹饪，是少数几个逃离了“红皇后”魔爪的居民之一。
　　

    （6）红皇后
　　“地下世界”的暴君，是《爱丽丝漫游奇境记》中的“红心女王”与《爱丽丝镜中奇遇记》中的“红皇后"的结合。
　　她的脑袋大得与身体不成比例，她性格跋扈，成天叫嚷着要砍掉人们的脑袋，地下世界处于她的残暴统治之下。她废黜并且流放了本应该成为女皇的妹妹“白皇后”。
　　

    （7）白皇后
　　“红皇后”的妹妹。在她的开朗活泼的性格之下又有着一点阴暗。
　　与红皇后有不少相同的基因，其实喜欢黑暗的一面，但又害怕走的太深，因此总是表现的轻松愉快。
　　但是由于害怕，她在自己生活的世界里无法控制自己。尽管并不完全出于无私，但当爱丽丝返回地下世界时，“白皇后”将她置于自己的翅膀下保护着她。

The Mad Hatter: There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it: You need to be as mad as a hatter.
[picks up his hat]
The Mad Hatter: Which luckily I am.
The Mad Hatter: [approaching a shrunken Alice] Alice! You're terribly late, you know. Naughty.
疯帽子先生：“有一个地方，就像不存在在这世界上一样，充满了奇迹、神秘以及危险的大陆！有一天为了生存你会说：你需要做一个疯子。”

Dodo was talking in business terms about adjourning the meeting and adopting more energetic remedies. To this Eaglet called out this quoted sentence:

Alice tells them about her adventures of the day and how she was repeating a poem to the Caterpillar and how the words came out all wrong. The Gryphon is very interested and asks Alice to repeat a poem called "'TIS THE VOICE OF THE SLUGGARD"'. Of course the words come out all different again. This is what the Mock Turtle calls it:

Of course Alice declares that to be rude, but the Mad Hatter answers her with a riddle:

本片于2008年12月完成主要拍摄，仅花费了40天时间，随后进入到后期制作阶段喜，将CG动画与真人动作结合，并且再转换成3D画面。
2008年8月6日和7愚日两天时间里，在英国普利茅斯市有250人参加了群众演员的试镜，条诺件就是要具备有维多利亚时代的长相以及不能有明显露在外面的纹身以及染发。
扮演“白皇后”的安妮•海蔽瑟薇肋希望她的角色造型是全香草白色的。她认为，“白皇后”与“红桃皇后”有着部分相同的基因，因此将她定义骸为小“喜爱朋克音乐的素食主义者”，因此她从Blondie、葛丽泰•嘉宝、丹•弗莱文和诺玛•黛丝蒙获得不少灵感。
服装设计师柯林•亚特伍德在”红皇后“的鞋底制差作了一颗红心，只有当她抬起脚的时候人们才能看见。
